Hoi An Is Experiencing A Tourism Revival with The Return of International Visitors

Hoi An has welcomed roughly 8,000 foreign tourists from the United States, Europe, and South Korea since Vietnam reopened international tourism in the first quarter of 2022 with loosened travel restrictions.

Tourists might be experienced a local market to buy local delicacies before boarding a boat back to the Bay Mau nipa palm grove. Then they went to a local eatery to have a massage and soak their feet in hot water with lemongrass and guava leaves. Finally, they took a cooking class, made flower arrangements, and had a picnic.

Tourists arrive in Hoi An in groups of 20-30 individuals, eager to participate in rural activities and learn about Vietnamese culture and cuisine. After the pandemic slump, this is an encouraging indicator for Hoi An's tourism.

Hoi An welcomed 200,000 guests for the Reunification and Labor Day weekend, with overall room occupancy reaching 70-75 percent and most three- to five-star hotels fully filled.
