Hanoi Welcomes Over 8.6 Million Tourists In The First Half Of 2022
The Hanoi Department of Tourism stated in the report on the implementation of the socio-economic development plan in the first half of 2022 that the total number of tourists to Hanoi in the last half was estimated at 8.61 million, which is almost three times higher than the same period last year.Domestic tourists make up 8.4 million of the expected arrivals, while international visitors total 211.3 thousand. Tourist-related earnings are expected to total VND 25.2 trillion, up more than three times over the same period in 2021.
The average occupancy of rooms in a 1–5 star hotel block is anticipated to be over 30%, up 6.11 percent from the same time in 2021 in terms of visitors. Room occupancy in June 2022 alone is predicted to be 42.9%, down 2.3 percent from May but up 17.2 percent from the same time in 2021.
This outcome is the result of the city of Hanoi making good use of tourism opportunities like the 31st SEA Games, planning a number of events to boost demand and promote tourism like the Hanoi Tourism Program to Welcome 2022, the Hanoi Tourism Gift Festival in 2022, taking part in VITM - Hanoi International Tourism Fair in 2022, the Hanoi Tourism Festival in 2022, and the Hanoi Food and Craft Village Tourism Festival...
The city also recognized three other locations: the unique national treasure known as Hai Ba Trung Temple; the imperial citadel of Thang Long—Hanoi, which is located in the city center; and the Hoang Long ecotourism site. The capital has 24 officially recognized tourism areas and attractions.
The Capital Tourism Industry has implemented a number of tourism initiatives to draw tourists, including a night tour of the Thang Long Imperial Citadel and the Hoa Lo Prison Relic; the northern highland market program of the Ethnic Culture and Tourism Village of Vietnam; a series of events at Bao Son Paradise Park; the "Hanoi City Tour" double-decker bus tour that explores the city's streets; and the "French architecture in the heart of Hanoi" walking tour.
With an emphasis on the city's strong products, such as diverse categories of tourism: culture, experience, sport, and MICE, the Capital's tourism sector will continue to advise travel agencies and locations to develop appealing and distinctive tourism products.
The city also prioritizes the growth of agricultural tourism by investing in the development of several prototypes for the advancement of rural and agricultural tourism.
