Con Dao And Phu Quoc Are Two Of Southeast Asia's Most Stunning Islands

Travel + Leisure surveyed its readers to choose the finest islands in the area based on activities, views, natural attractions, beaches, gastronomy, and friendliness for this year's Asia Best Awards.

The biggest island in Vietnam, Phu Quoc, is located in the province of Kien Giang in the Mekong Delta. It is renowned for its white sand beaches and for producing fish sauce, a staple of Vietnamese cuisine.

The island's popularity has increased since the government began to grant 30-day visa-free entrance in 2014.

Con Dao Archipelago, located around 230 kilometers (143 miles) southeast of HCMC, was formerly well-known for its sizable jail that was initially built by the French and then utilized by the Americans during the Vietnam War.

Due to its white sand beaches and pristine blue seas, Con Dao is now well-known as a tourist destination.
