Vietnamese And Cambodian Cultural And Artistic Cooperation Grow

City of Ho Chi Minh - A cultural and artistic cooperation program for the years 2023 to 2027 was signed on September 28 in Ho Chi Minh City by the deputy ministers of culture, sports, and tourism of Vietnam, Hoang Dao Cuong, and Cambodia, Long Ponnasirivath, secretary of state and spokesman for the ministry of culture and fine arts.

As a result, the parties reached an agreement that Vietnam will send delegations to Cambodia in 2023 and 2025, while Cambodia will send delegations to Vietnam in 2024 and 2026.

The Vietnamese Culture Week in Cambodia will be organized in 2024 and 2026, and the Cambodian Culture Week in Vietnam will be organized in 2023 and 2025.

On the occasion of the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Cambodia, two culture weeks will be hosted in the two nations in 2027, along with other events like art exhibitions and performances.

The two sides will encourage and foster cooperation between their agencies engaged in cultural and artistic research, the preservation of traditional cultural heritage, fine arts, photography, exhibitions, and libraries, as well as the planning of cultural and artistic exchange programs in border regions.

Students from Cambodia will get training in Vietnam in cultural and art institutions overseen by the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism. On the basis of the acceptance of the two governments, a detailed agreement will be made regarding the precise quantity and duration.

Ponnasirivath commended the Vietnamese side for providing supportive circumstances for the Cambodian ministry to organize the Cambodian Culture Week in Vietnam during the meeting.

He hoped that the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism will continue to assist Cambodia in developing human resources for the preservation of its cultural heritage.

For its part, the Vietnamese Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, according to Cuong, has expressed a willingness to assist Cambodia in developing its human resources for the film, circus, and music industries as well as in offering scholarships to local students.
