Thailand reintroduces “Test & Go” program from February 1, 2022

The Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration of Thailand proposed from February 1, 2022, travelers from all countries can apply for a Test and Go Thailand Pass up to 60 days in advance. Although travelers are not required to undergo a 7-night quarantine, they must stay at government-approved hotels for two nights (nights on arrival day and 5th day) instead of one night as before.
Test & Go program is applied to fully vaccinated travelers or infected people who were recovered for at least 14 days, having medical certificate of no longer than 03 months from recovery and receiving at least one vaccine dose.

Travelers can apply for the Thailand Pass QR code at https://tp.consular.go.th/ if they meet the following requirements:
▪ Certificate of vaccination or vaccine passport
▪ An insurance policy with coverage no less than US$50,000
▪ Day 1 hotel confirmation for first PCR test and accommodation at a SHA++ approved hotel with airport transfer
▪ Day 5 hotel confirmation for second PCR test and accommodation at a SHA++ for (no need the same hotel as first hotel); If travelers stay less than 5 nights, then this condition is not required.

Before travel to Thailand, travelers also need
▪ Medical Certificate of an RT-PCR test issued no more than 72 hours before departure 

When arrival at Thailand, travelers must follow the procedure:
▪ Go undergo ‘entry screening’, including body temperature check at the point of entry.
▪ Present the required documents to the Immigration/Health Control officer.
▪ Proceed to the prearranged hotel for the first RT-PCR test. Then, travelers must wait for the test result within the hotel room only. Travelers under 6 years of age, travelling with parents, can have a saliva test.
▪ If testing negative for COVID-19, travelers are free to go anywhere in Thailand.
▪ However, they must stay at their prepaid hotel on Day 5 and undergo their second PCR test. While waiting for the result, travelers must stay within the booked room. 

The Sandbox program also will be extended from 1 February 2022. Pattaya and Ko Chang are among the reopened destinations joining the existing Krabi, Phang-Nga, Phuket, and Samui. Sandbox program now also requires travelers to pay for 2 PCR tests. But travelers can stay up to 2 SHA++ hotels within a province during their 7 nights as required by Sandbox program.
