Myanmar No Longer Requires Fully Vaccinated Travelers To Go Through Quarantine

The Covid-19 rapid diagnostic test (RDT) at the airport costs 15,000 kyats each test for travelers, and the results are available within an hour, according to the health ministry.

Before Sunday, all foreign visitors entering the nation had to wait for the RT-PCR (polymerase chain reaction) test results in quarantine at approved hotels for around 24 hours.

Until now, all visitors entering the country had to show proof of immunization completed at least 14 days before arrival and a negative result in an RT-PCR performed within 72 hours of their arrival.

According to the ministry, they must still present a health declaration form and Covid-19 medical insurance acquired from Myanma Insurance.

The health ministry also reduced the quarantine period for visitors arriving by relief aircraft and land border gates from five to three days for fully vaccinated travelers and from seven to five days for those who are not fully vaccinated.

The quarantine periods for arriving tourists have been lifted and shortened, according to Myanmar's health ministry.

According to official estimates from Myanmar's health ministry, nearly 23.47 million people have been properly vaccinated against Covid-19.
