Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri, Minister of Tourism, Arts, and Culture, stated that the target can only be achieved through aggressive initiatives and incentives, such as by bringing in foreign delegates through business events to the nation since the reopening of borders and the easing of restrictions for inbound tourists.

On August 29, the minister stated, "Like other tourism categories, the business events unquestionably increase business for hospitality-related enterprises." He was speaking during the 7th Meet in Malaysia @ Malaysia Business Events Week 2022.
