New Thailand-Laos Train Service to Launch on July 19th

Enhancing regional tourism connectivity, a new international train service between Bangkok, Thailand, and Vientiane, Laos, is set to commence on July 19, 2024. Announced by the State Railway of Thailand (SRT) on July 3rd, this service aims to boost tourism and provide seamless travel options for adventurers exploring these vibrant Southeast Asian destinations.

The extended route from Bangkok to Nong Khai will now reach Vientiane, offering a convenient and scenic travel alternative. Departing from Krung Thep Aphiwat Central Terminal Station in Bangkok at 9:25 p.m., the train will arrive in Vientiane at 9:05 a.m. the next day, as reported by the Bangkok Post.

Upon arrival in Vientiane, travelers can easily access public transport services to reach downtown Vientiane, located just 7-9 kilometers away.
