Riyadh Air Launches a New Flight to Thailand, Connecting Riyadh and Bangkok
New Flight to Thailand Strengthens Riyadh–Bangkok Connectivity
Thailand has welcomed the inaugural Riyadh Air service connecting Riyadh and Bangkok, marking a significant development in air connectivity between Thailand and Saudi Arabia. The new flight to Thailand officially launched on 3 September 2026, with the inaugural service arriving at Suvarnabhumi Airport after departing from King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh.
The new flight to Thailand is operated by Riyadh Air using a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner with 290 seats. The route initially operates three flights per week, with departures from Riyadh every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday and return services from Bangkok every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. From October 2026, Riyadh Air plans to increase the service to seven flights per week, providing daily connectivity between the two destinations.
Expanding Access from Saudi Arabia and the Middle East
The new flight to Thailand creates a more convenient gateway for travellers from Saudi Arabia and the wider Middle East to explore Thailand. At its initial frequency, the route adds approximately 3,840 inbound seats to Thailand each month, supporting stronger connections for leisure and business travel.
Saudi Arabian travellers have shown strong interest in Thailand’s beaches, shopping, nature, Thai cuisine, wellness, and medical services. Family travel is also an important segment, while destinations beyond Bangkok, Phuket, and Pattaya are gaining attention, including Krabi, Phang-nga, Koh Samui, and Chiang Mai.
For Thailand, the new flight to Thailand also supports efforts to attract higher-value international visitors and expand tourism demand across different regions of the country.
New Opportunities for Luxury, Wellness and MICE Travel
Beyond leisure tourism, the new flight to Thailand is expected to create opportunities for luxury, wellness, medical, family, and MICE travel between Saudi Arabia and Thailand. Improved direct connectivity makes it easier for international travellers and corporate groups to combine Bangkok with other Thai destinations within a single itinerary.
With daily service planned from October, the Riyadh–Bangkok connection further strengthens Thailand’s position as an accessible destination for travellers from the Middle East.
For travellers and travel partners looking to explore Thailand through tailor-made experiences, the new flight to Thailand opens new possibilities for discovering Bangkok, beach destinations, cultural highlights, wellness retreats, and luxury experiences across the country.
